McAfee Secure Messaging Service is a managed security service that resides outside your network, requiring no additional hardware, software or personnel resources to manage daily security operations. However, a company using McAfee Secure Messaging Service will need to have its own mail domain, such as yourdomain.com, with a static IP address and a dedicated mail server, either in-house or hosted by and ISP. By simply re-directing the mail exchange (MX) record through the McAfee servers, mail traffic will be scanned quickly and easily - before entering or leaving your network - with less than a one-second delay in transit.
