The Apple iPhone was launched by Apple in 2007, and following a hugely popular reception to its initial release has since only continued to grow and grow in popularity. The iPhone is an internet-connected multimedia `smartphone` – a smartphone being a mobile phone equipped with advanced technical capabilities meaning that in many ways it functions in the same way as a PC. One of the features that initially attracts customers to the iPhone is its appearance; with no keyboard and only three buttons – all of which are located on the side – the iPhone is sleek and stylish, and, with a little practice, the touch-screen is also very easy to use. The Apple iPhone was undoubtedly revolutionary when it was released, with a user interface that was unlike anything anyone had seen before. Now it has been updated to the Apple iPhone 3G, and with this latest edition comes a number of benefits and advantages not available from the original iPhone. The most important change is the addition of 3G technology. When the iPhone first hit the markets it was the only smartphone not to have 3G, and its addition certainly makes a lot of difference. Examples of the types of widgets available include language dictionaries, traffic reports, horoscopes, recipes, tv guides and games, though there are also many more obscure widgets on offer, meaning the iPhone 3G most definitely has something for everyone!
